Leadership Skills for Women
Be A Highly Successful Woman Professionally And Personally
Success for women looks different for each person. The key is to
find out who you really are. What are your strengths? What is your
person vision? Then, use that information to create the life you
want to lead. Success is more than financial, more than material.
Success takes in our whole life, and is measured by the degree to
which we feel empowered to lead the life we want to lead.
Successful women know the power of
support and collaboration
Common Boundaries Consulting & Communications has a
mission of helping women become successful leaders in both their
professional and personal lives. Through workshops, training,
speeches and educational products, our company offers practical and
powerful experiences for each woman to be more authentically who
they are. Our training is based on extensive research yet begins
with the premise that at the core, each woman already knows what
she needs to know; she needs to believe it.
According to the latest research conducted by the Center For
Creative Leadership on Standing at the Crossroads: Next steps for High-Achieving Women
(Marian Ruderman, and Patricia Ahlott), highly successful women
excel in 5 key areas: Acting Authentically, Being an agent in their
own destiny, Ability to make connections, Self-Awareness, and a
holistic view of the world around us. Other books that deal with
successful women include Hard Won Wisdom by Fawn Germer and
The Seven Aspects of Sisterhood: Empowering Women Through
Self-Discovery by Debra J. Gawrych. Our company believes in
similar principles that in order for a woman to feel successful she
needs to be empowered in these key areas of her life:

Common Boundaries offers a women’s weekend program and
selected workshops/programs that relate to being a highly
successful woman. We, as women, are constantly trying to find a
balance; and to identify and integrate priorities. Our mission is
to help you uncover your own source of power and find out the
answers for yourselves. You can do this through our programs which
revolve around the key areas listed below. All elements are
included in our women’s weekend programs.
Self-Awareness
Through personality assessments, communication and role-playing,
our programs teach you to find your real self – develop a
sense of wholeness. This wholeness will then become an integral
part of everything you do, from work to home. Self-Awareness
programs include:
- Seven Aspects Personality Model
- Learn How to Communicate More Effectively … With Everyone
- Work/Life Balance
Authenticity
Being authentic means to be true to one’s own personality,
spirit or character. It deals with having courage to be who you
are in the moment—show to the external world your level of
self-awareness. Programs offered by Common Boundaries include:
- Courageous Women: Courageous Choices
Actively Creative
Highly successful women are proactive instead of reactive. Common
Boundaries programs that deal with this topic include:
- Wise Women Using Keys to Unlock the Doors of Wisdom
- Be Strategic – Work Smarter, not Harder
- Women Visions: Coaching and Mentoring
- Women’s Peak Expedition
- Take Charge by Taking Risks
Integrity
Integrity and ethical behavior are often viewed as one. They are
not. Integrity means being in line with yourself – being
balanced and living your life from a sense of balance. Common
Boundaries programs that deal with integrity include:
- Leadership Skills for Women: A Personal Perspective
- How to Confront Someone Respectfully
Making Connections
Building productive relationships is a key to feeling good about
ourselves. Relationships go both ways: we teach and learn, learn
and teach. Making connections is about networking, building support
groups, coaching and mentoring, and paying forward to others the
knowledge that they, too can be successful.
Networking can be fun, but is most meaningful when it is mutually
beneficial. It works best when you are authentic and not only
interested in what is in it for you, but also what you can offer
someone else. Another element of making connections is coaching and
mentoring others. This can be done in both your professional and
personal life. The value of coaching goes both ways. The coach is
not only giving, but also receiving and in turn facilitates with
the person she is mentoring the experience of powerful
relationship—that of actively listening and following those
you wish to lead.
